My favorite thing about Bob’s Burgers is how Linda absolutely does not fit the trope of “exasperated wife rolling her eyes at family shenanigans”

but Bob does.

But how could you leave out the best part where Bob absolutely fits that role and still goes along with the shenanigans because he loves his family?!

He’ll sigh and shake his head and mutter, “Oh my god” while still grinning as he pulls Gene up onto the trapeze, while infiltrating a brony convention to get Tina her favorite toy, while putting together a premiere because he and Louise love the show, while driving Lina from open house to open house so that she can get free food. 

Too often the wet blanket either sits out the adventure or negatively complains about it the whole time. Bob may be exasperated but he goes along with everything without question. The poor guy just wants a night off but he’ll still infiltrate a Christmas gay rave at a moment’s notice because his family asked him to do so. That’s how you show a supportive husband, writers, take notes!
