Day 5: Favorite male character and why?
Edmund. Always Edmund.
Because his character arc is fantastic and real. Because he begins as a petty, resentful, childish little boy and fails and matures into a man of grace and justice and intelligence and wit. Because he supports his brother in his position of High King and fights bravely and learns from his mistakes (’I vote for going up’ he tells them. ‘I was the worst of the lot.’). Aslan doesn’t name him Just; his subjects do. After years of working and fighting and forgiving and building, Edmund (the Traitor, the Betrayer, the Child) becomes known as the Just, and I think its a phenomenal character arc and I have way too many emotions about this character.
